Teacher Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram of Hong Ha Primary School (Binh Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City) surpassed 14 athletes to win the gold medal at the 7th World Vovinam Championship taking place in November 2023 at Phu Tho Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).

Talking about her chance to come to this sport, Ngoc Tram said that when she was 14 years old, she started practicing Vovinam. After that, she was selected for the team, and devoted herself to Vovinam Vinh Long for about 12 years. When she got married in Ho Chi Minh City, she stopped practicing here. In early 2020, Ngoc Tram returned to coach and practice for the Ho Chi Minh City Vovinam team. After 2 years, she was called up to the national team and competed at the 31st SEA Games in 2022 in Vietnam. Ngoc Tram is currently a Physical Education teacher at Hong Ha Primary School, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. Sharing about the difficulties in the martial arts training process, Ms. Ngoc Tram said that the teaching profession has strict working hours. Meanwhile, she has to training regularly. Talking about future plans, Ngoc Tram hopes that Vovinam will be developed in schools, clubs, and even organized as an extracurricular activity. “Currently, my school is developing other subjects such as aerobics and chess. I hope that in the future, Vovinam will also be developed and expanded. The school has organized a martial arts and music competition, and in the near future we will promote this beneficial activity for students,” Tram shared. On November 14, 2023, Hong Ha Primary School organized a Vovinam – Flashmob Martial Arts Competition for Grade 4 students.
