After an exciting and intense journey lasting more than five months since the competition was launched on March 18, 2025, the Final Round of the Vovinam Dance 2025 Competition officially took place on the afternoon of August 24, 2025, at VOH Music One Theater, 03 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

The final round gathered 08 outstanding teams and 03 excellent individuals from provinces and cities nationwide. Notably, the competition also welcomed the participation of the Van Hoa Ozoir Club, a Vovinam Club from France, a country where Vovinam has been spreading widely.

The Vovinam Dance 2025 Competition was initiated by the Vietnam Vovinam Federation (VVF), in collaboration with sponsors and partners such as: Hanoi Television, VTV9 Channel of Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Radio, Saigon Dental Implant, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), Vovinam Lam Son Investment and Development Co., Ltd., S.M.J.A Home, Laha Cafe Vietnam JSC… The competition aimed to spread the spirit of unity, national pride, and create a cultural-sports event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of national reunification, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, and Vietnam’s National Day on September 2. With this significance, the organizers and partners jointly held the event with the aspiration to further spread the spirit of Vovinam, evoke patriotism, and create a healthy, creative playground for the youth not only in Vietnam but also globally.

The Vovinam Dance 2025 Competition included monthly rounds held online on the Vovinam Digital platform from April 1 to July 31, 2025. From these rounds, the judging panel—comprising reputable experts in martial arts, choreography, and performing arts—selected the best teams and individuals for the final round. The performances were judged based on criteria such as Vovinam techniques, creativity, artistry, teamwork, and stage effects. The participants delivered innovative and breakthrough performances, blending the spirit of Vovinam martial arts with modern dance performance. Based on traditional martial arts techniques, the contestants brought to the stage powerful, emotional, and artistic showcases that reflected national spirit, youthfulness, and integration.

Distinguished guests attending the final round included Master Tran Van My, Head of Vovinam – Viet Vo Dao School, President of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation; Dr. Mai Huu Tin, President of the World Vovinam Federation; Major General Vu Van Dien, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command and member of the Vovinam Masters Council… along with many officials, guests, fans, and Vovinam practitioners.

The final round on August 24, 2025, was filled with excitement through explosive performances that harmoniously combined martial arts, music, lighting, and deep cultural messages. Teams and individuals competed with great effort to win the top prizes. After more than an hour of intense and impressive competition, the contest concluded successfully. The jury summarized the scores and announced the results as follows:

  • Individual category:
    • First Prize: Nguyen Huynh Thien Phuong (Dong Thap Province) – VND 10 million + Champion Trophy.
    • Second Prize: Nguyen Ngoc Phong Thu (Hanoi City) & Nguyen Ho Hong Duong (Tuy Hoa, Dak Lak) – VND 5 million each.
  • Under-15 group category:
    • First Prize: Tran Giang Kids (Can Tho City) – VND 50 million + Champion Trophy.
    • Second Prize: Vovinam Phu Yen (Tuy Hoa, Dak Lak) – VND 35 million.
    • Third Prize: Ia Grai Gia Lai (Gia Lai Province) – VND 25 million.
    • Consolation Prize: Kiem Bac Kien Giang (Ha Tien, An Giang) – VND 15 million.
  • Above-15 group category:
    • First Prize: Falcon (Can Tho City) – VND 50 million + Champion Trophy.
    • Second Prize: Hao Khi Tay Do (Can Tho City) – VND 35 million.
    • Third Prize: Linh Phong Vu (Can Tho City) – VND 25 million.
    • Consolation Prize: My Tho Dai Pho – VND 15 million.

The competition concluded with resounding success, serving as an exciting and creative sports playground for students, blending the essence of traditional Vietnamese martial arts with modern music. Importantly, it was not limited to students and young people in Vietnam but also aimed to expand internationally. The competition brought vibrancy and freshness to cultural and sports activities, showcasing the strength, determination, and aspirations of the young generation. Above all, it honored, preserved, and spread the quintessence and cultural values of Vovinam – a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Vietnam.

In addition to promoting physical education and sports training, the Vovinam Dance 2025 Competition also contributed to widely promoting Vietnam’s traditional martial arts, bringing Vovinam closer to the younger generation both domestically and internationally.

The organizers hope the competition will become an annual, meaningful, and beneficial event that helps students unleash their youth, creativity, and martial arts passion, while also raising awareness of the traditional values of Vovinam – a martial art deeply imbued with Vietnamese identity.
